15.01.09 - ecoSolutions Intl Targets Plastic Bag Industry with Environmentally Friendly Technology
Ashland, Oregon ecoSolutions Intl (OTC: ECOI), a leading developer of
environmental-friendly consumer materials, today announced that it has signed a five
year agreement for exclusive use of a technology that dramatically reduces oil
consumption and landfill impacts in some of the most widely used plastic materials,
polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE). The technology strengthens existing plastic
materials while maintaining recyclability.
Under the terms of the agreement, ecoSolutions Intl will market this proprietary
technology, initially targeting the plastic bag industry that currently produces
approximately 380 billion bags annually in the United States while using an estimated 1.3
billion gallons of oil. Incorporating this material into current manufacturing processes can
reduce oil consumption by as much as 50%, while maintaining the plastic’s recyclability.
This technology can also be used with post recycled material.
“We believe this technology is the next step in reducing the environmental impact of
plastic bags. With our initial focus on the plastic bag segment of the plastics industry, we
have the potential to save 600 million gallons of oil annually. This technology has much
broader uses in other packaging products that we believe will help the environment” said
Bill Patridge, President and CEO of ecoSolutions Intl.
